that's north las vegas police that is. we're seeing some pictures that have been posted on social media. we really don't know a lot at this point and time but police have told us there was a fight apparently between two groups of people that broke out, shots fired. a wal mart, the building somewhere over there was hit. but at this time police do not have any victims. our sergio avila is working the scene to get more information and we'll definitely bring you updates as soon as more information comes into the news room. >> michelle: good afternoon. thank you for joining death of a child that happened sunday afternoon at a siegel suites here in town. >> krystal: craig fiegener is live from metro headquarters with the latest this investigation. so what have they been able to piece together at this point and time, craig? >> craig: so far we know that this begins as a request for medical help for a child who is having something they believe is certainly serious when firefighters get there they determine it's life tlaechting. they al -- threatening. they also decide early on there

he has injuries. the seven-year-old boy. and they label it "suspicious." there was a medical emergency involving a 7-year-old boy. it happened at this siegel suites on boulder highway near flamingo. 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon sunday. firefighters found a child who was badly injured. who died a half-hour later at sunrise hospital. >> the initial reports were that it was trauma. the body of the child. so it's not a natural death >> craig: the child one of five children sharing a small apartment with two adults. one of those adults a 31-year-old man named kenneth robinson. he was the father of some of the children but not of the one injured who died. >> we are investigating this as a child abuse death. we do have a person detained. >> craig: a short time later robinson was officially under arrest. one of many questions. why were there seven people living in one apartment? and what was the relationship between the child's mother and

connection with the child abuse death? live once again at metro headquarters. we also understand the four children who were in that one apartment, that siegel suites apartment, they were uninjured. all four children now in the custody of child protective services. also, late yesterday the mother of the 7-year-old who did die, that mother did talk with detectives. i'm craig fiegener reporting live for news 3. >> krystal: there's a new hospital in the valley for patients in the hende henderson hospital held its grand opening this morning just before 7:00 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony. they welcomed the first patient in at eight. the 130 bed hospital is located on galleria drive by the u.s. 95. it includes all necessaries services from cardiology, radiology. and the hospital plans to add a level two neonatal intensive care unit next year. >> michelle: staying in henderson. two people forced out after

they should stay light. they'll start to increase for the trick-or-treaters but it won't be as bad as last night. 75 at 4:00. most of the kids will be out around six. 72 degrees, that's the expected temperature. those temperatures will fall into the 60s. long sleeves probably a good idea. it's going to get cooler as the night wears on. we're going look at the forecast for the week coming up. >> michelle: i see a tail too. >> krystal: we'll see you again in the next forecast. >> michelle: a judge has ruled that pulse night club shooter have to be released. so we've heard a lot from the victims. now we're talking about the ones that he made. >> krystal: that's right. that judge is also considering whether other 911 calls made during the shooting should be made public. the judge heard arguments today from attorneys on both sides. on june 12th omar mateen walked into the pulse night club in orlando and opened fire killing 49 people and hurting 53 others. so far officials have released two-thirds of those 911 calls.

people are seeking help in italy after another massive earthquake. this 16.6 on the scale. it hit the central part of the country on sunday. just two days after a pair of other strong quakes rocked the same area last week. no deaths or serious injuries reported. that's kind of hard to believe when you look at all the destruction left behind but thankfully that's what we're being told. officials say it is because many homes in areas in that city were closed or evacuated because of the earthquake that hit last accused oklahoma killer. his name is michael vance. he has been on the run since last week and he was shot and killed by law enforcement during a shootout in western oklahoma last night. he was wanted for murder. two of his relatives for the -- so the murders were two people he was related to to. also shooting and wounding two police officers. an officer was shot in the arm

>> michelle: this void horrifying to watch here -- video horrifying to watch. a security line dedescending into chaos as a man sprays wasp spray on passengers then started swinging at people with a machete. this happened in new orleans. this happened in 2015. the as a 63-year-old man named richard wright. he was shot and later died from his wounds. investigators say he suffered from some type of mental illness. oh my gosh just terrifying. especially with everything that's going on in airports right now. people are on edge. >> michelle: surveillance video captures a possible abduction. this in virginia. police are trying to figure out what exactly happened here.

how they carried this out. it shows two men exiting from a car and walking out of view at a wal mart parking lot. so this is a wal mart. look they're taking someone and trying to put this person in the trunk. well the victim tries to break away. not successful f. ultimately gets tossed inside. the men get back in the car and drive off. police are trying to figure out where these people are. very scary moments caught on tape. in front of everybody too in a parking lot. also caught on camera, a man san francisco because of his dog. a woman who posted the video says the pit bull as service animal but not exactly clear if that is the case. the video showing this unidentified man going back and forth with the police officer about this dog being on board. san francisco transit says service animals are allowed on board. and they are looking into what happened here causing all this confusion. but still trying to sort through all of it.

not dead. trapped after an explosion. this is in china. officials believe that explosion is gas related but they are not exactly sure what caused it. so far two people were hoisted to safety. but rescuers are still searching for those trapped underground. this is the second coal mine explosion in a month in china. last month 20 people were killed after a gas explosion was caused by illegal mining. a mysterious fir b the coast of northern japan. it has a lot of people talking today. here is the video. you see it? it's highlighted. you see that light shooting across the sky? it's kind of a greenish color here. everybody is wondering what in the heck is it? it lasted for about 15 seconds then vanished. one astronomer says the object is either a brighter than typical meteor or possibly space debris. maybe like satellite fragments burning up as it enters into the

trick-or-treating is over. here is a look at the satellite radar. we've got this storm system moving in to northern california. a lot of rain there. wind as well. for us. we're seeing high, thin clouds. you see them across southern california, parts of arizona. the rest of the area seeing a lot of sunshine today. quiet conditions for the most part. our halloween forecast. 75 degrees. that's our expected high in las vegas today. mostly sunny skies. winds about five to ten miles an hour. the winds will increase during the overnight hours tonight. 55 that will be our low with partly cloudy skies. gusts to 25 miles an hour. it should hold off until after the trick-or-treaters are done. as far as the trick-or-treating is concerned, usually around 6:00 that's probably about the busiest time. 72 degrees. for our 7-day forecast for the rest of the week? temperatures taking a dip tomorrow. 72. that's it for the high. then we'll slowly start warming back up into the upper 70s which is above normal heading into the

>> krystal: the chicago cubs still alive in the world series. and they can thank a local boy for that. nevada high school grad las vegas native one of our own chris bryant breaking through with a home run. it was the cubs first run since game two. really haven't seen a lot from him but he exploded last night. the home run propelled the team to a 3-1 fourth inning and they needed every one of those runs as they go on to beat the indians 3-two.
